2021 Spotlight: Ja'Heim Hudson

With the travel season on hold and no opportunity for prospects entering their final year of high school to play in front of college coaches to earn scholarships, LakePoint Hoops wants to put the spotlight on the Class of 2021. Each over the next few weeks we will be profiling a top prospect in Georgia in hopes of helping prospects generate buzz with college coaches.

Up next in the LakePoint Hoops Class of 2021 Spotlight Series…

Ja’heim Hudson

Position: Forward

Height: 6’7”

High School: Wheeler

Travel Team: Game Elite

Scholarship Offers: Winthrop, Kennesaw State

Scouting Report: Hudson hit our radar during the 2019 travel ball season with the 16U Game Elite squad and he’s done nothing but win since then. He was a huge part of Game Elite’s win in the 2019 16U Battle for Georgia and followed that by helping lead Wheeler to a state championship in March. He is a long 6-foot-7 forward who is extremely active and productive. He is a highly skilled player on the block and can score on the interior with good post moves and on the offensive glass. He is also a really good passer, which we saw a lot down the stretch with Wheeler. He doesn’t shy away from contact and can be a very tough matchup from 16 feet and in, including being able to face up and put the ball on the floor. He’s also an underrated athlete and can use his long strides to get into the open floor and finish above the rim. With size always at a premium, look for him to draw a lot more interest and offers as the fall approaches and coaches get their eyes on him.
